> ℹ️ Note: Due to Apple's AppStore rules and restrictions, PeakHour 4 cannot automatically import settings from prior versions. These instructions are provided as-is and are not fully regression tested.

The process is slightly different depending on whether you're using the [Paddle or Mac Appstore](https://peakhoursupport.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=p4w&title=How%20do%20I%20tell%20which%20distribution%20of%20PeakHour%20I%20have%3F&linkCreation=true&fromPageId=327889) version of PeakHour. #### Direct (Paddle) version

1. Close <u>**all**</u> running instances of PeakHour.
2. Launch 'Terminal' (if you're unsure how, see here: [https://www.wikihow.com/Open-a-Terminal-Window-in-Mac](https://www.wikihow.com/Open-a-Terminal-Window-in-Mac)).
3. Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:

#### Mac Appstore version

1. Close <u>**all**</u> running instances of PeakHour.
2. Launch 'Terminal' (if you're unsure how, see here: [https://www.wikihow.com/Open-a-Terminal-Window-in-Mac](https://www.wikihow.com/Open-a-Terminal-Window-in-Mac)).
3. Copy and paste the following commands into Terminal:

> ℹ️ Once complete, reboot your Mac. This will ensure any old cached preferences are cleared.
